Designed for a couple that specifically asked that the home be on a single level, the design approach to this home was to provide an open floor plan around which all of the ancillary spaces connected.  Central to the home’s floor plan are the great room, kitchen and dining room.  Directly linked with these three spaces are the sunroom, guest bedrooms, office, and master suite.  Our client, blessed with many grandchildren, asked that the entire floor area above the three car garage provide space for rumpus activities for their grandchildren above the garage.  The aesthetic theme for the home reflects an Arts and Crafts sensibility.  Throughout the home’s interior are pockets of quiet space designed as moments of respite for reading or reflection, most notable is the fireplace inglenook in the master bedroom.
