This 5,700 square foot stone and stucco clad home in Naperville is sited in a neighborhood experiencing a steady transition from single story and split level homes to larger housing stock. Our approach with this home began with the clients desire to consider a style reminiscent of French Country with a material palette of stone, brick and stucco. To maintain a reasonable scale with the smaller homes in the neighborhood, the planning of the home’s elevations focused on compressing the roof structure allowing for smaller scaled dormers to pop through the roofline. On the first floor this home accommodates a formal two story foyer with a Juliet balcony, dining room, office, family room, eat-in kitchen, sunroom, mudroom and powder room. The second floor affords space for a full guest suite (for possible future use as an in-law suite), master bedroom suite, two children’s bedrooms, hall bathroom and laundry room. In the lower level a future interior build-out includes a full bar, recreation room, wood shop, exercise room, children’s playroom, and a full bathroom.
