This story and a half brick and frame Cape Cod residence was expanded dramatically to accommodate a growing family of four.  Limited to a modest floor plan of 1,000 square feet the clients wished to expand the first floor providing a mudroom, bathroom and family room.  Above the first floor the clients requested that there be space for a master bedroom, master closet, and master bathroom.  Extending from the rear of the existing brick and frame home the new work sits under a gable structure clad in board and batten siding terminated by a tapered wood burning fireplace.  Projecting from the roof line are shed dormers giving additional space and visual character for the master bedroom and the master bathroom.
